2025 Summer School – Day 3

During day three of this years Summer School the students participated in a visit to ๐Ž๐ฅ๐๐ก๐š๐ฆ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง to learn about the vital role the police play in the community.

The students had a brilliant day talking to the team at the station, they discussed ๐ฉ๐š๐ญ๐ก๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐จ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐ž, different careers and roles that are done on a daily basis that they may not have thought about before. They had a question and answer session with the ๐ง๐ž๐ข๐ ๐ก๐›๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ฆ, talking about community policing and working together within communities to deal with issues and stop crime. Finishing with a chat with the ๐‚๐ก๐ข๐ž๐Ÿ ๐’๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ง๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ, Estelle, about her role and responsibilities and the commanding officer in Oldham.

I do hope the students enjoyed this engaging day and thanks to the officers and staff who took time out of their busy days to host interactive sessions and for all the work they do to keep our communities safe.
