More powers for councils to tackle pavement parking

Pavement parking causes real problems for people every day, from parents with prams to wheelchair users and those with sight loss.

I’ve been calling for action on this for some time, and the government’s announcement that will give councils the powers they need to keep pavements clear and communities safe is extremely welcome.

This is about fairness, accessibility and making sure our streets work for everyone.

Labour is taking action to protect our communities.
