LAST THURSDAY I was presented with the National Youth Voice Star Awards for my lead role in the campaign to lower the voting age. It is a real honour to receive this award, and an even greater honour to have been nominated by our hard working Oldham Youth Council.

HISTORY HAS a greater pull on our conscious when we discover a personal link to the past. It could be a distant ancestor, rediscovered by research into our family past. IT’S ABSOLUTELY right that we take time this weekend to remember those who have died in recent wars. It should be a time for our country to acknowledge the sacrifices made for our freedom in a dignified and unified manner.
