For a decade and a half the previous government refused to update HMRC mileage rates, meaning decent working people whether they were employed in jobs like home care or the self employed like plumbers were paying to work.
That was wrong, costs have clearly rocketed since it was last updated. Thankfully the campaign alongside Unison and the RAC Foundation succeeded.
And more good news, the chancellor has agreed to backdate it to April!
