News that the Home Secretary will announce measures to close the loophole preventing the deportation of notorious child abuse and exploitation offender Shabir Ahmed.
This is a welcome move and while we await to hear the full details on Monday, it is a vital step in the UK getting its own house in order – coupled with diplomatic discussions with the receiving country, in this case Pakistan.
I hope for the victims and survivors this is the path to the justice they are due.
