I know users and families are concerned about the uncertainty on the day centre at Chadderton Hall Park operated by Miocare.
I raised the issue with council officials recently and was assured that the closure proposed as part of budget savings was not going ahead as planned originally and it had been paused to allow fuller consultation about the future of services for its users.
Just to assure you, I know how important the centre is for its users and I’ve told the council it should be safeguarded. I’m told discussions are taking place about the medium and long term future and I’m keen to continue to be part of those conversations.
I also raised with the council the importance of keeping park buildings in use, once vacated they quickly become run down and even vandalised which impacts on all park users and takes away an important community asset.
