The proposed Mayoral Development Corporation for Oldham has been approved by new Greater Manchester Mayor Bev Craig.
I supported the principle of an MDC when I responded to the consultation earlier this year.
There is a real opportunity here to bring investment, jobs, better housing and regeneration to Oldham, including SportsTown, the Coliseum Theatre, Northern Roots and new homes.
We need to get this right. The investment needs to be felt right across our borough.
This is an important step forward and now we need to make sure the ambition matches the opportunity and delivers for communities across Oldham.
