It was great to welcome this year’s summer school to Parliament. They were given a brilliant tour of the Parliamentary estate including Westminster Hall & Central Lobby before joining me on the terrace overlooking the Thames and opposite the London Eye.
We had a chance to talk about the process of taking important issues and campaigns which constituents support to Parliament so we can change the law and improve lives – as I am doing this week with the first reading of my 10 minute rule bill on changes to the system of registration of stillbirths, and campaigns such as dangerous driving and knife crime we’ve taken up locally.
Before heading back home, they got a chance to go to Downing Street and see number 10 – decorated with a sea of white and red for the England match! Thanks so much to all those who helped put the day’s trip together.
