Great to see that the Hungarian government’s State Secretary for Social Relations Dr György Heidl visiting Holy Rosary Church in Fitton Hill to see Hungarian artist George Mayer-Marton’s 1955 Grade 2 listed mural “The Crucifixion” during his visit to Greater Manchester.
He was talked through the original artist’s scale design of the mural from 1955 we obtain which we plan to get framed and hopefully displayed inside the building once it reopens.
Thanks to Dr Heidl and the new Consul General of Hungary in Manchester for coming to our town and meeting with the team who are fighting to save Holy Rosary Church and bring it back into community use.
This could be a wonderful centre for the community of Fitton Hill and beyond, we need to keep promoting its value.
